Northern Life

Life in Shetland

Sunset out the kitchen window
Shetland is a bonnie place, it has a very strong heritage which I guess has influenced the things I do. For example I've played the fiddle since I was 8 years old, and I used to play with my Grandpa Willie on Sunday nights when he popped by for a quick tune. I also played with Shetlands Young Heritage until I left for university.

Having a tune with my Dad

When I am home I love to go out with my folks dogs (there are 4) and here are some photos a of the place ...

My Grandparents house was named Bonnieview because of its view

Life in Orkney

Happy Valley a secret graden which is beautiful when it is sunny

I moved to Orkney for work in April 2007 and was there on and off until August of that year when I got my permanent contract. Orkney is very different from Shetland in many ways, the main being its appearance, it is much flatter.

Here are some of my favourite places.
